Pursuit of hat 2
With wonderful graphics and animations which look like they have come straight from a Dr Seuss book, ‘Pursuit of hat 2’ is a logical puzzle game which will really challenge your ability to sequence instructions appropriately. This is a really important thinking skill, particularly given the curricular shift towards computational thinking. The idea behind the game is pretty simple – your character has lost his hat and needs you to move him around his world to get it back. Things will get a little more complicated than this sounds!
Instructions: Simply use the arrow keys on your keyboard to guide your character around the screen. At times you may need to press the space bar in order to rip off a limb – a pretty extreme measure to get a hat back but hey, it is a nice hat!
Learning objective: To develop skills in sequencing instructions (an important element of computational thinking).
Plenary questions:
(i) What strategies did you develop to help you successfully complete levels?
(ii) What situations in real life require you to follow a series of steps in the correct sequence in order to complete a task?
